Malware

The concept of malware, short for malicious software, refers to a type of software designed to infiltrate, damage, or perform unauthorized actions on computer systems or networks. Unlike regular software, which aims to deliver utility and value to the user, malware operates covertly with the intent of compromising the integrity, availability, or confidentiality of data and services. Varieties of malware include viruses, worms, ransomware, spyware, and trojans, each with unique methods of propagation and impact. Given the increasing dependence on digital technologies for personal and commercial use, the threat of malware has grown significantly, necessitating robust cybersecurity measures including antivirus programs, firewalls, and user education to detect and neutralize such threats.
