Leukaemia

Leukemia is a type of blood cancer that originates in the bone marrow, the soft tissue found in the center of bones that is responsible for the formation of blood cells. This disease is characterized by the abnormal and uncontrolled proliferation of white blood cells, which can disrupt the normal function of the bone marrow and lead to a range of health issues. Leukemia can manifest in various forms and may be either acute, developing rapidly and requiring immediate treatment, or chronic, progressing more slowly. The symptoms can include fatigue, frequent infections, unexplained weight loss, and easy bruising or bleeding. Treatment options for leukemia generally include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and sometimes stem cell transplantation, with the approach depending on the type and stage of the disease, as well as the patient's overall health.
