When I was little, the street I used to play in had a lovely rockery garden and in the middle was a plaque which read:
The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God's heart in a garden
Than anywhere else on earth.
Dorothy Frances Gurney (1858-1932)
The garden has long since been torn apart and given the ground force treatment but I still remember the verse :-)
